Today’s Thoughts on Women’s Narrative

Today, I spent time reading and revising texts for my Women’s Narrative exam. I read so many poems, novels, and speeches, all about women. Some of the works I studied were Anonymous by Mamata Kalia, Still I Rise by Maya Angelou, Women by Tara Patel, and so on. While reading, I realized how much women were always oppressed in the past. They suffered a lot under the patriarchal system, and life was really hard for them.

Reading about their struggles, it became clear how much people, especially women, had to endure. They worked hard and faced struggles to gain basic rights, like the right to vote. The sacrifices and pain they went through were all so real and powerful. But now, women are slowly gaining freedom, space, and the chance to live, choose, and express themselves.
