An unforgettable day
I woke up earlier than usual, and because of that, I managed to catch the bus ahead of time. I reached college exactly at 7:55 a.m., which was earlier than my usual schedule. Since I had some free time, I walked towards the botany tank inside the campus. There, I sat quietly and began to admire the beauty of nature around me. The tall trees, the green plants, and the sweet chirruping of the birds created such a peaceful environment.
For almost 20 minutes, I just sat there in silence, watching and listening. I realized that even though I had been in college for a long time, this was the very first time I was truly admiring nature so closely. The feeling was refreshing and calming. That simple moment filled me with peace, and I felt grateful for the little things around me.
Later in the afternoon, at 3:50 p.m., I reached home. Without wasting any time, my mom, dad, and I went to a nearby dress shop. We bought a few clothes and enjoyed the shopping experience together. After finishing our purchases, we decided to treat ourselves at a restaurant. We ordered vegetable fried rice, warm corn soup, and finally ended the meal with a delicious ice cream. The food was so tasty and satisfying that I couldn’t help but smile at the little joys of the day.
By the time we returned home, it was 6:05 p.m. I was extremely tired and wanted to take a nap . But as soon as I stepped into my home. my tuition students shouted excitedly, “Hey akka has come!” Usually, my twin sister and I conduct tuition from 5:30 to 8:00 in the evening, but since I was out today, she had been teaching them alone.
Just then, a little boy arrived late at 6:15 p.m. I was already tired and got a bit angry, so I scolded him for coming late. But instead of answering me, he quietly stood with tears in his eyes. A few seconds later, he handed me a chocolate. To my surprise, he also gave chocolates to the other students. I was confused, so I gently asked him why he brought chocolates. That’s when he told me, in a soft voice, that it was his birthday today. And that was the reason for his delay.
At that moment, I was completely shocked. My heart filled with guilt and sadness for scolding him without knowing the reason. I felt so sorry for him. My eyes welled up with tears, and I immediately hugged and kissed him. The boy’s innocent gesture touched me deeply. Despite being scolded, he still chose to share happiness and forgiveness.
It made me realize something very important: children have such pure hearts. They forgive easily, they love unconditionally, and they teach us lessons of kindness without even knowing it. That small boy gave me one of the most beautiful moral lessons of my life.
I ended the day thanking God for blessing me with such meaningful experiences. Every day, life teaches us something new, and today I learned about the power of forgiveness, innocence, and unconditional love.
“I can never forget this day, this moment, and this little boy.”
