A Sunday Without Phones
As a family, we usually go to church on Sundays, singing, worshipping, and spending time together in the morning. But this Sunday felt a little different. After returning home, we decided to do something new, that is, we planned to keep our phones aside for a few hours, focusing on spending quality time with each other.
Normally, after church, everyone goes to their own rooms. My brother, my sister, my parents, and I often spend hours on our phones. The house is quiet, even though we are all together. But today, we chose a different way. We agreed to put our phones aside and simply enjoy conversations and moments together.
What started as a small plan turned into one of the best parts of the day. We sat in the living room and began talking. My parents shared stories about their childhood and how they spent Sundays when they were young. My brother talked about his school life, my sister shared her experiences, and we all shared memories of college and other fun moments. The conversation flowed naturally, filled with laughter, curiosity, and warmth. Later, we even watched TV together as a family. It felt refreshing and comforting. That simple decision to put our phones aside brought us real happiness.
This Sunday reminded us that phones will always be there, but moments with family are precious and cannot be replaced. The laughter, stories, and togetherness we shared showed how important family time is. I hope we continue this practice often because some of the best memories are made when we put our phones down and truly connect with each other.
