the Sky Turned Dark and Beautiful.

Image
Today the sky was filled with dark clouds, both amazing and slightly scary at the same time. I stood on the terrace and captured this picture. It felt as though the sky was preparing to open up and pour its heart down. Within a short while, the rain began, and it was as if nature itself wanted to refresh everything around me. It had been such a long time since I enjoyed the rain this way. I could not hold myself back. I stepped out into the rain and started dancing. The drops touched my face, and I felt an unexpected joy. After a long time, I was getting showered by rain, and the chillness was delightful. It felt like the child in me had come alive once again, playing and laughing under the cloudy sky. I took this picture on the terrace before the rain began. The clouds looked heavy, as if they were carrying countless emotions within them, waiting for the right time to fall. When the rain finally came, it was more than just water. It was relief, joy, and peace combined toge...

Between Pages and Preparation

After coming home from college. I spent my half an hour taking rest, a short nap, and then I immediately sat down with my books, notes, and research material, determined to prepare for my upcoming seminar. The topic I chose is very close to my heart: Anita Nair’s novel Ladies Coupe and how it portrays the lives of women. The more I read, the deeper I went into the world of the five women in the novel. They are Marikolunthu, Prabha Devi, Janaki, Sheela, and Margaret. Each of them carries her own pain, struggles, and stories. They come from different walks of life, but their voices come together to show one truth: women, even in today’s society, are still forced to face challenges, sacrifices, and silent battles. As I turned the pages, I found myself almost crying at some parts. Their struggles felt real, not just because Anita Nair wrote them so beautifully, but because I could see the reflection of so many women I know in real life. The novel opened my eyes to the harsh reality that pa...

A Sweet Evening with Gulab Jamun

Image
Today I had a sudden sweet craving, so I asked my brother if we could go and buy something from the shop. But to my surprise, my brother said, “Don’t worry, I’ll make gulab jamuns at home.” I didn’t expect that at all. He took up the whole task by himself and told us not to help him. He wanted to prepare it fully on his own. For almost 45 minutes, he stood in the kitchen, mixing, shaping, and frying. The smell slowly spread across the house, and I could not wait to taste it. Finally, he made more than 30 small gulab jamuns. They looked perfect, round, and soft, floating in sweet syrup with almonds on top. When he served them, the first bite felt soft, warm, and melting in my mouth. It was honestly one of the best gulab jamuns I had ever eaten. The fact that my brother had made it with so much care made it even more special. Of course, being siblings, we couldn’t resist fighting a little. Not a serious fight, but the funny type like who ate more gulab jamuns, or who got the ...

A Day in My College Life

Every morning on my way to college, I listen to music in the bus. Today, I heard songs from my favorite singers Hariharan and Sid Sriram. Hariharan’s voice always feels peaceful, while Sid Sriram’s songs are full of emotion. Listening to them made my journey calm and refreshing, and it gave me a good mood for the whole day. By 8:20 a.m., I reached college and went straight to my classes. The lectures were engaging. And After classes, I went to the library, which has always been one of my favorite places on campus. There, I picked up Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The play’s deep questions about life and human choices always leave me thinking. I also spent a little time with Macbeth, another masterpiece that shows how ambition and desire can shape destiny. Sitting quietly among the shelves, reading these works, felt like a pause from the busy pace of the day. Later in the afternoon, I joined my friends in the canteen. We shared some snacks, laughed at our jokes, and spoke about simple things hap...

An unforgettable day

Image
I woke up earlier than usual, and because of that, I managed to catch the bus ahead of time. I reached college exactly at 7:55 a.m., which was earlier than my usual schedule. Since I had some free time, I walked towards the botany tank inside the campus. There, I sat quietly and began to admire the beauty of nature around me. The tall trees, the green plants, and the sweet chirruping of the birds created such a peaceful environment. For almost 20 minutes, I just sat there in silence, watching and listening. I realized that even though I had been in college for a long time, this was the very first time I was truly admiring nature so closely. The feeling was refreshing and calming. That simple moment filled me with peace, and I felt grateful for the little things around me. Later in the afternoon, at 3:50 p.m., I reached home. Without wasting any time, my mom, dad, and I went to a nearby dress shop. We bought a few clothes and enjoyed the shopping experience together. After f...

The Joy of Writing a Diary

Image
Since I was a child, I always had the habit of writing a diary. It started very naturally, almost like a small friend who listens to everything I wanted to say. Whenever something happened in my day whether it was a happy moment, a little fight with friends, an achievement, or even a sad feeling. I would take my diary and write it down. Over time, this habit became a part of me. Writing in a diary gave me peace, comfort, and also a way to look back at myself. It was like keeping a safe place where all my thoughts and memories could stay forever. Even when I grew up, I never let go of this practice, because it always gave me the feeling that I was recording my life story, page by page. This past weekend, I opened one of my old diaries and began flipping through the pages. As I read, I was amazed “Wow! Did all these things really happen in my life?” It felt like a journey back in time. Some memories were unforgettable, some were emotional, and others were simply mesmerizing. ...

The Joy of Reconnecting

After a long time, my school friend called me. We spoke for hours, and the conversation opened a box of memories. We laughed about the small things from school. Like, the way we used to share snacks during lunch breaks, and even the silly mistakes we made that now feel so precious. Hearing that familiar voice again reminded me that some bonds never really fade, no matter how many years pass. This conversation made me think about how different communication is today compared to the old days. Now, if we want to reach someone, all we need to do is pick up the phone or send a quick message. Within seconds, the reply comes back. There is no delay, no silence, no waiting. Everything is instant, and we rarely stop to think about how much of a gift that is. But I also imagined how things must have been years ago, when people relied on letters. Back then, whenever someone wanted a reply, they had to wait sometimes days, sometimes weeks. Waiting was not always easy, but it carried its own beauty...
