Exploring My College Library
I visit the library almost every day after the classes, but for my CA2 assignment, I decided to make a vlog about it. After my classes, I spent around two to three hours taking this vlog, capturing the different sections of our library and the way students use them. Through this, I wanted to show how important the library is in our daily college life.
The first thing that greets us is the register at the entrance. Every student must write their name, department, and entry and exit times, finishing with a signature. It’s a simple rule, but it creates discipline and reminds us that the library is a shared space for learning.
On the ground floor, there are two reading halls. Reading Hall One is where students quietly read, and along its walls, several boards display daily newspapers like The Hindu, Times of India, and Dina Thanthi. Just beside it, Reading Hall Two offers shelves of books from almost every subject like history, chemistry, zoology, botany, literature etc..
Then, The digital library adds a modern touch. This section is equipped with computers where students can browse, search for books in the catalogue, and even access e-books, research databases, and online journals. It’s very helpful for those working on projects or assignments that require up-to-date information. What I like most is how the digital library saves time.
And on the first floor, the library has two more reading halls. Reading Hall Three and four. And these two hall has individual study spaces where one person can sit and study alone. It’s perfect for those who prefer complete silence and focus. In contrast, the open space between Halls Three and Four has large round tables where many students can sit together, often surrounded by journals and reference books.
This tour showed me that the library is not just about books. It is about creating an environment where every type of learner, whether in groups, in solitude, or with digital tools, can find their own corner.
